It is said that "Sons and Lovers" is an autobiographical novel. Compare D. H. Lawrence's life to that of his character Paul.

  2. Hi friends! How you doing? Well, the first thing that I realized that both(Paul and Lawrance) had in common is that both grow in town of miners and their fathers are miners too in Nothingham! And both won many prizes Paul in paiting and Lawrance in writing!

  4. Now, think about the religious aspects of this novel. Can you specify some of them?

    1. Well, the only characters that focus in the religious aspect is Miriam and Paul. Miriam is a very religious girl, and the only companion that she had in home is his mother, because her brother Edgar, don´t believe in anything. Meanwhile Paul believe in God, but not in the same way that Miriam, he believe that God is love and that Miriam should love him!

    2. I think if there are religious aspects because Paul believed so much in God, but Miriam God loved

  5. Is Mrs. Morel the most important woman to Paul throughout the novel, or are there moments at which his relationships with Miriam or Clara take precedence? If so, what is the significance of these moments?

  6. Well I think it is true the fact that Mrs. Morel was the most important woman to Paul inthe novel, Even when he spent a lot of time with Miriam and Clara, he always came back to see his mother, in those moments which Paul was with Miriam and Clara he did not know what he really feels. He thought he was in love, but after his mother´s dead, he could realized that all the things that he lived with the two women was no love, he was empty, and he felt so bad. After his mother´s dead, Paul made a decision, he would be alone forever because he realized that he belonged to his mother

  7. Hi there!, well this novel has some important religious aspects in their lifes, a bible that a member of cleric gave to Mrs. Morel, otherwise Miriam loves and trusts in God but not at the same way than Paul.

  8. I agree with Nixon, the most important in Paul's life was his mother. However the relationship of Paul between Clara and Miriam honestly I think it wasn't love, he needed a different feeling that his mother gave him perhaps... a different way to love..

  9. Miriam has a sense of power over Paul because she is not his mother. When you look at Paul as a person, you have to realize that any woman won't ever be as important or as influential as his mother is. Miriam becomes Mom's competition, and Paul feels guilty because his relationship hurt his mother.
